SCUSOMA offers several scholarships to help students pay for their education. These funds come from a variety of university, federal, state, and private sources but unlike loans, they do not have to be repaid.
Generally, scholarships are reserved for students with special qualifications, such as academic, or leadership talent. SCUSOMA Merit scholarship is administrated through the office of admission, SCUSOMA Merit Scholarships required students to apply for admission to the University before the last 2 weeks before the quarter starts. Ranging in value from a few hundreds to a thousand dollars up to full tuition, merit scholarships are awarded based on academic excellence, leadership, serve and talent.

- Must have completed at least 2 quarters of SCUSOMA (Full-time)
- The scholarship award is based on the following;
- GPA of 3.75 or higher
- Attends all SCUSOMA’s events/affairs.
- Genuine need for financial assistance
- Minimum of 51% of total number of units in the enroll language program
- A recommendation letter from SCUSOMA faculty or academic staff
- How many times can a student apply for an academic scholarship?
One academic scholarship is given at each language program. Student may apply for more depending his/her grades.
- What is the time Period?
For the requested 1 quarter only. If you want to apply for more quarters, you must request and complete another scholarship request form.
- How many Academic Scholarships are given each quarter?
One academic scholarship is given at each language program.
- What is the scholarship amount?
The amount may vary depending on the student’s academic status and its need of aid.
a. Complete the scholarship request form.
b. Turn it in to the Student Advisor by the end of the quarter
Recipients will be notified by email during the 2nd week of the following quarter.

Some SCUSOMA scholarships are administered by organizations outside the office of admission These generally require separate application, have varying deadlines and eligibility requirements and may or may not require an interview.
Nurse.org Healthcare Leaders Scholarship
Annual Application Deadline: January 29
Submission: 600 to 1000-word essay
Eligibility: Applicants must be 17 or over with a 3.0+ GPA, and enrolled or accepted to a nursing or healthcare-related program. Both graduate and undergraduate students welcome to apply.
